The odds of it being a White Christmas in the North east this year have receded, according to a leading bookmaker.
Anyone who's put cash on snow falling in the region on December 25 could find themselves cast adrift.
William Hill have pushed out the odds of a White Christmas up and down the country as the prospect of snow on Christmas appears to be diminishing.
In Newcastle, the odds are 4/1, with snow only thought to be more likely in Scotland.
The shortest price on offer is for snow in Aberdeen, which has been eased from 2/1 to 5/2, while the odds of a White Christmas in London have drifted to 5/1 from 4/1.
“The weather outside is certainly frightful, however, snow on Christmas Day looks unlikely,” said William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly.
William Hill's White Christmas odds:
3/1 Edinburgh, Glasgow.
5/1 Belfast, Leeds, Liverpool, London.
6/1 Birmingham, Dublin, Manchester.
7/1 Bristol, Cardiff, Norwich.
