What will the weather be like for Sunderland Airshow on Saturday?

Yesterday's thunderstorms affected some of the flying and entertainment on the ground, but it didn't stop the show's star attraction, the Red Arrows, from strutting their stuff.

Today the Met Office forecast is for unsettled weather, with scattered showers and fresh gusty winds, so if you're off to the airshow it might be wise to take your waterproof.

This morning is expected to be cloudy and breezy in the morning, with frequent heavy - possibly thundery - showers, or longer spells of rain.

It will be much cooler than of late, with a maximum temperature of 20°C.

Tonight will be breezy, with clear spells and isolated showers, mainly over hills.

It will become cloudy towards the end of the night, with outbreaks of rain arriving from the south just after dawn. Minimum temperature 9°C.

Tomorrow it will be wet and windy for much of the day, with heavy rain over hills and coastal gales possible.

The rain will become lighter in the late afternoon, with winds easing, though remaining cloudy. Maximum temperature 20°C.
