And unfortunately any prays of the weekend bringing a better weather outlook have not been answered as it looks set to continue in similar fashion.

However, it's grim reading for Sunday with a band of heavy rain expected in the early hours of the morning with strong winds accompaying it. It should be relatively dry in the day time, though, with temperature set to hit as high as 18° come 1pm.

What the Met Office say:

Friday:

Early rain will clear southwards but showers will quickly develop, some of these will be heavy. Breezy and cool, but not as windy as Thursday. Chilly overnight into Saturday. Maximum temperature 15 °C.

Outlook for Saturday to Monday:

Saturday, mostly dry with bright spells. Overnight into Sunday a band of heavy rain and strong winds will move quickly across the area. Clearing to leave a mostly dry Monday.
