Beyond the Barricades

First up, the legendary Roy Chubby Brown (October 14) may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but a lot of people like tea. Chubby came from a tough start in life to become one of the most successful comedians in the world.

His trademark flying helmet and goggles, coupled with his coat of many patches, make him instantly recognisable.

If blue comedy isn’t your style, leave your 9 to 5 worries at the door and get ready for a night in the company of country music royalty. Enjoy the songs of the queen and king of country music – Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers when Islands in the Stream (October 16) hits the stage.

This thigh-slapping stage show brings together the beloved glamour and personality of Dolly, along with Kenny’s charisma and energy with hit after hit including: Jolene, Ruby, 9 to 5, Lucille, Here You Come Again, The Gambler, I Will Always Love You, Coward of the Counry, plus the smash hit Islands in the Stream.

Enjoy a superb score and supreme musicianship as we bring the house down with the ultimate tribute to two country music legends.

Next up, the UK’s longest running musical theatre concert tour, Beyond the Barricade (October 17) features past principal performers from Les Miserables. It delivers more than two hours of the best of Broadway and the West End, and of course ending with a stunning finale from Les Mis. The concert features David Fawcett (Valjean), Andy Reiss (Enjolras and Resident Director for the National Tour of Les Miserables), Katie Leeming (Eponine) and Poppy Tierney (Cosette), together with a live band who capture the feel of the original orchestrations of the chosen musicals.

Beyond the Barricade gives musical theatre songs a bold concert format treatment, but with the conviction and intention to deliver the material as if the audience are watching the original.

Next up, Lee Memphis King stars in One Night of Elvis (October 18). In this latest production, Lee Memphis King, who is regarded as one of the world’s best impersonators, portrays Elvis Presley at his peak celebrating the iconic Vegas Years from 1969-1977.
