SOUTH Tyneside residents are being reminded that green bin collections will be springing into action this month.
Green bin collection calendars are being sent out to residents informing them of the dates for their green bin collection day.
The collections, which only take place during the spring, summer and autumn, are set to start again from Monday, March 23.
A wide range of materials can be put in the green bins, including grass cuttings, hedge trimmings, leaves, twigs, cut flowers, house plants and weeds. However, carrier bags, food waste or black sacks should not be placed inside.
Details of what can be placed in the bin are also explained in the calendars which residents will receive in the post before their first collection is due.
