Disabled should give up free parking spaces

WE’RE always hearing from disability campaigners about equality and how they want to be treated ‘just like everybody else’.

Well, why don’t they start by giving up their free parking spaces?

Of course they should have wider spaces to make exiting vehicles easier, that’s just common sense.

But why should a disabled person with a well-paid job get free parking, while an able-bodied person who might be struggling financially have to pay?

That doesn’t sound like equality to me, it sounds like special treatment.
