I agree with Jack Wiffin regarding parking on pavements that drivers must park carefully.
We have many streets of houses which were built more than 140 years ago when traffic was rare. These streets do not have wide roads and it is often necessary to park on the edge of pavements so that emergency vehicles can get through.
He would not like it if people died because a fire engine could not get to a fire. And what about an ambulance not being able to get to the necessary house? It is now acceptable to park on the edge of a pavement, always allowing prams, wheelchairs, etc. to get past on the pavement.
