Help to target symptoms

In the North East seven in 10 women are not confident at spotting the symptoms of ovarian cancer.

We hear far too many stories of women who have been diagnosed with ovarian cancer too late, but if diagnosed at the earliest stage, up to 90 per cent of women would survive five years or more.

Target Ovarian Cancer has launched a new Symptoms Diary, to help women who are worried record their symptoms and talk to their GP – available as an app and in print. The app version is free to download, visit www.targetovariancancer.org.uk. For a free printed Symptoms Diary email info@targetovariancancer.org.uk or call 020 7923 5475.

The symptoms of ovarian cancer are feeling bloated, abdominal pain, feeling full and needing to wee urgently.

If you have been experiencing these symptoms 12 times or more in the last month, see your GP.
