No need for it to change

I had some poetry published in the Gazette in 2011 regarding the council spending money on the seafront but letting the bandstand and public convenience, known locally as Gandhi’s Temple, go to rack and ruin, suggesting, tongue in cheek, the upper level could make a fine Victorian tearoom.

Now it would appear work is to start to transform the thing into a seafood restaurant by adding a concrete block to its backside.

But, surely, we have enough blots on the landscape without adding another one. Furthermore, if Colmans owner has oodles of money to splash out why could he not just resurrect Frankies Cafe and keep Ghandi’s intact.
