Only bomb the rebels

Ged Taylor says bombing Daesh in Syria is not justified but I hope that is all we bomb for should we attack Syria’s president Bashar al-Assad we will let even more of the genie out of the bottle.

We got rid of Saddam Hussein and Col Gaddafi because for all their faults but they did keep Daesh down and helped protect minority religions such as Christians.

Bashar al-Assad is a moderate Muslim, his wife and daughters wear westernised clothing and as Bashar al-Assad once said: “In Syria our notion of Islam is very moderate. We do not have any extremist Wahhabi orientations or Wahhabi schools of thought. We reject and resist these extremist ideologies that they are trying to instil into Syrian society. We do this by fighting it politically and through the teaching of proper religion, of the moderate Islam that Syria is well known for.”

However, this is not enough for the radical muslims who are now fighting to depose Assad.

Even a Syrian archbishop has pleaded for the British Government to stop backing Islamist rebel groups who he said were “fundamentalist jihadis who want to kill everyone who is not similar to them”.

Jean-Clément Jeanbart, the Archbishop of Aleppo, said the UK was inadvertently helping to bring about the destruction of Syria by funding such anti-president Assad groups.

So I would like to end by saying ‘better the devil you know’ for look at the state of Libya and indeed Iraq.
