I WONDER if any Gazette readers have any knowledge of the children who lived in Cleadon Cottage Homes in Oakleigh Gardens, Cleadon Village.
The homes were demolished in 1962, but we know that some of the boys were involved in one or other of the World Wars.
They are commemorated as part of the war memorial in the village, but, before the site is refurbished, it would be interesting to find out names and any other information about the war exploits of the boys and girls of Cleadon Homes.
You could call me on 536 3346 or e-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org so that I could pass on the information to the Cleadon in Bloom group which is planning tidying up the site.
