WE really have so much local talent and most of it was at the Customs House last Sunday for two shows to raise money for our ‘little theatre with a big heart’.
It was a really great afternoon, ending in a well-earned standing ovation, and I’m sure the evening would have been as good.
We saw Jason Cook, Chris Ramsey, Steffen Peddie and Victoria, all from Hebburn, and then Alfie Joey with some great impressions, and the brilliantly funny Sarah Millican.
We asked her for a selfie after the show, but as she had just been given a fish supper from the best chip shop in the region (Colman’s), the answer was obviously, no!
We are so lucky to have such variety on offer; where else could you see Jekyll and Hyde, listen to Songs of Tyne Shipyards, The Big Band, an Easter Dance Festival, A Stone Cold Murder and visit the cinema for £5/adult, all in the same venue within a week?
We cannot allow this theatre to go bankrupt. If you haven’t been in a while, give it another try. If you have, try something different.
I can also recommend the Lunchtime Liasons, a meal with a movie afterwards.
Don’t take our word for it, try it for yourself!
