Speak to the residents

It is obvious to me that Councillor Ed Malcolm does not know his ward very well.

The comments he made in the Gazette regarding aspirations for a retail core at the north end of Frederick Street should be taken with a pinch of salt.

I can assume that he has never walked up the back lane between Frederick Street and Aneesas.

The rear of the premises is in terrible decline as were the buildings being demolished.

Does he expect a thriving retail area to be created, which will need a lot of cash to be invested to update these properties, when half the premises are closed?

He needs to get out and about with the other two ward councillors and do some leg work and speak to the residents instead of sitting in a nice warm office.
