I bought my border collie, Spot, after a young couple had placed a plea on Facebook.
A day after I got him my son-in-law, who was only 49 years old, took his life. My daughter had gone out to get the paper and there was a photo of a dog that looked like the one we had bought.
His name was Spot and everything seemed to tie in so my daughter phoned Colin Campbell, who had placed the plea in the paper for someone to look after the dog. He had fostered this dog out to a young couple so we told him we had him.
What a good dog he is. I had just lost my own border collie a few months before and as we have had dogs for more than 50 years, we were broken hearted.
I would love to know Spot’s background.
I have a family of five and six grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who all love him.
Spot has so much love in him and I know that most dogs and cats have love in them, just like children if you look after them and take care of them.
Spot is so special to us but I do wonder about his original owner and why it was he had to give him up?
Was the owner too ill to look after to him and is he missing him?
We do love Spot so much. He is the best thing I ever got – love him to bits.
