Support this gem of a theatre - or risk losing it

The Pier Pavilion is surely an endangered theatre, a historic gem, inhabited by talented, dedicated people who continue to stage show after show to a dwindling audience.

I was there on Wednesday night.

Run For Your Wife was the play. I only booked the day before but had great seats in row E. I guessed about 40 in the audience.

The comedy was great, over two hours of belly laughs.

The script was tight and the timing perfect. The laughs rolled over in waves.

The actors must have rehearsed for months to get this fast-moving comedy as tight as it was,

They deserved better than an almost empty theatre.

At the end they received a well-deserved standing ovation for their efforts.

The next show is the Laffalang on July 24 and 25.

Go support this gem of a theatre in our town or don’t whinge when it closes.

Tickets are on sale at Haven Point pool, for the price of a couple of pints
