I read a story this morning on the BBC (of course) website about an immigrant’s harrowing journey across Europe to get to Britain and how it had cost him £15,000.
Wait a minute ... £15,000? I though these people were supposed to be penniless? I thought the whole point of them coming here was so they could have a better life?
If they’ve got £15,000 on hand they’ve already got a better life than a lot of British working families who are living below the breadline and having to use food banks.
This isn’t the first time I’ve read about issue.
It sounds to me like the immigrants that we’re getting aren’t the poor ones who are genuinely in need, but those with plenty of money to get here. The numbers don’t add up to me.
