The veteran Labour MP Keith Vaz, pictured, a leading light in public relations and political affairs, has, by virtue of, what I consider to be, his own weaknesses, practically ruined his successful career spanning 30-odd years.
Surely such an intelligent man could have foreseen he was treading on very thin ice, with the consequent end of exposure in the long term?
Rather sadly, the same fate has stricken many a prominent person in power.
They find their lives frayed, with family, relations and friends considering their associations in an entirely different light.
Being in the public eye magnifies any misdemeanours one may pursue, no matter how small.
