Volunteers are vital to Guide Dogs’ services

Guide Dogs provide life-changing services to people with sight loss across the North East and Cumbria, but this would not be possible without our army of dedicated volunteers.

Volunteers raise funds, support our My Guide sighted guide service, socialise puppies, board and walk dogs, support our admin – the list goes on.

In Volunteers Week, I’d like to sincerely thank all of our volunteers for their time, skills and dedication and for helping us to provide people who are blind and partially sighted live the life they want to and deserve to.

People like local lady Louise, who went from barely leaving the house to completing a college course and running a successful fundraising group thanks to her partnership with Guide dog Ursula.

We’d love to welcome more of you to our friendly team in the North East so to find out how you could do something that will help us to support more people like Louise while building new skills and discovering new friendships, call 08453727423 or email Newcastle@guidedogs.org.uk

You can also find out more about Guide Dogs by tuning into ITV on Tuesday, June 9, at 8pm to see a programme entitled, Me and My Guide Dog.

Happy Volunteers Week.
