We should not have to pay

Yet again, the emergency services have been called out to Hawthorn Leslie.

It is time the council made a stand. Why should we, the taxpayer have our council tax used to pay for the services for a building which does not belong to the council.

The owners, MMC, should be billed.

The emergency services will have logs of when they have attended this scene, which is numerous occasions.

This is a private building and MMC should take responsibility. The listed status has been removed, therefore this company is dragging its heels.

Coun Kerr said security must be bolstered, but are the taxpayers having to pay?

This is a missed opportunity by the council to claw back lost revenue considering the drastic savings quoted and loss of employees jobs.
