The nine players who could depart Newcastle United this summer as Steve Bruce looks to boost his transfer budget
And with Steve Bruce thought to have been handed a modest transfer budget, outgoings could be key if the Newcastle boss is keen to boost what he has available to spend.
So which players could be allowed to leave the club this summer? We take a look at nine players who could depart St James’s Park before the 2020/21 campaign kicks-off:

1. Matty Longstaff
The youngster is out of contract at Newcastle United and, while the Magpies are keen to retain his services, he is now free to talk to other clubs. Any interested side would have to pay the Magpies compensation were they to strike a deal. Photo: Catherine Ivill

2. Ciaran Clark
Newcastle are fairly well stocked at centre back, so could see that as one area where they could shed some bodies in a bid to raise funds. Clark would no doubt have his suitors if he was allowed to leave. Photo: Ian MacNicol

3. Fabian Schar
With just a year left on his contract at St James's Park, it isn't beyond the realms of possibility that Newcastle could move Schar on this summer - if an attractive bid comes in. Photo: Alex Livesey

4. Yoshinori Muto
The Japanese international has struggled for first-team football since his arrival on Tyneside and would likely be allowed to move on should a suitable bid arrive. Photo: Jan Kruger
