Search for owners of stolen bikes as investigation leads to two arrests
Officers searched an address on Padgate Road, Pennywell, last month and found more than 100 bicycles. They are estimated to be worth thousands of pounds.
It is believed that many of the bikes were stolen from addresses across Sunderland, South Shields, Gateshead and Newcastle over the last few months.

Northumbria Police have since had a number of calls from members of the public who believe they may belong to them.
Today – Thursday, September 17 – officers released the images of six more distinctive bicycles in the hope of reuniting them with their rightful owners.
An investigation is continuing into the find. A 37 year-old man and a 34 year-old woman were arrested in August on suspicion of conspiracy to handle stolen goods. They have both since been released on police bail.
