Reports: Paris Saint-Germain and ex-Everton midfielder Idrissa Gueye rejects loan move to Newcastle United with Steve Bruce keen to add to squad on deadline day
The 31-year-old joined PSG from Everton for £30 million in 2019 and has since made 54 appearances for the French superclub in all competitions, scoring three goals.
Steve Bruce’s side are keen to bolster their midfield before Monday’s 11pm deadline and had been in talks with Gueye regarding a loan move.
According to Mail Online, the Senegalese midfielder is allowed to leave PSG but has rejected the proposed move to Tyneside after having doubts over the potential loan switch.
Gueye made just shy of 100 Premier League appearances for Everton after joining from relegated Aston Villa in 2016.
Newcastle are still eyeing a midfield arrival on deadline day with Leicester City’s Hamza Choudhury strongly linked with a move. Celtic's Olivier Ntcham has also been linked with a potential loan move though the Magpies face stiff competition from French giants Marseille.
