South Shields seafront bar and restaurant Platform 33 holds major recruitment drive as it looks to take on 25 summer staff
The popular venue on Sea Road is holding a day of recruitment today, April 1, inviting aspiring bar staff and chefs to come along between 10am and 4pm to be interviewed.
Applicants, aged 18 plus, must bring a CV with them and wear a face covering for the interviews which will take place in the outdoor area throughout the day.

Hide AdIt comes ahead of the venue’s planned reopening on April 12, in line with the Government’s roadmap for the easing of lockdown restrictions.


From this date pubs and restaurants will be able to open if they have outdoor dining space.
Platform 33 manager, David Wardle, plans to take on 20 to 25 people for the roles which he stressed were just for the summer season at present.
He said: “We have had hundreds of applications since we advertised on social media that we were hiring.

Hide Ad"We are looking for bar staff and chefs ahead of reopening on April 12.
"They are summer roles but we hope that if we are still busy after the summer that we will be able to keep a few of them on."
Please note – anyone wanting to come along to the recruitment drive today is asked to use the beach entrance.
Social distancing will be adhered to during the outdoor interviews.
