South Tyneside writing group moves to new location


Write Together has been helping people to nurture their love of the written word for more than 25 years.
They have now re-located to the Charles Dickens room within The Word in South Shields’ Market Place from the town’s former library in Prince George Square,

Hide AdThe group are currently working on an anthology which will be published once work is completed.
Dot Golightly, from the group, said: “We have now moved into The Word and will be starting our next project on Friday, which is an anthology.
“The group is open to both new and old members who would love to see their work published.
“A lot of our members have had their work published, including myself, and our work is available within the library.

Hide Ad“The group encourages people who would like to write. We have a lot of support for our group and the work we do.”
Mrs Golightly is one of a number of members who has had work in print. Tales with a Twist has been available within the library for those interested in her work.
She added: “People, who are prospective writers can come along to our sessions and find out more about what we do as it might be something they would like to get involved in. Everyone is welcome.”
The group organises workshops with visiting authors and encourages each other with their work.

Hide AdOver the years members have produced poetry books, diaries and anthologies.
The group meets on Fridays from 10.30am until 12.30pm.
