Whiteleas and Harton travel to Esh Winning tomorrow hoping to build on last weekend’s positive results.
Leas upset the form book with a fantastic victory over Philadelphia last Saturday, thanks to a fantastic 124no from overseas professional Bilawal Iqbal.
The following day, Andrew Potts’ side were halted by the weather in a high-scoring encounter at Bill Quay.
The hosts posted 274-5 before declaring on 45 overs, with Sid Corner Jnr the pick of the bowlers with 2-67.
Leas responded magnificently, with Owen Peterson 99no, backed up by Nathan Ullah (67).
However, with a rain break reducing their allocation by 10 overs, the game finished as a draw as the visitors finished on 235-5.
Potts was enthused with his side’s displays in both games and wants it to kick start the season.
Potts said: “We were underdogs against Philli, especially because they are one of the sides who are expected to be pushing for promotion come the end of the season.
“Unfortunately, we lost opening bowler Hafiz Aleem for the Bill Quay game as he damaged his shoulder, which was a huge blow. However, youngsters Andrew Davies and Sid Corner showed real character.
“Tomorrow will be another tough test as Esh have some excellent players, but we’re looking forward to the challenge.”
Alan Beadle and Lewis Surtees return to the side.
The Second XI welcome Esh Winning to Harton Welfare (1.30pm). Vice captain Iain Jones returns to the fold, along with Sonu Pathak.
