DURHAM CCC have secured four international matches over three years at the Emirates ICG from 2017-19 – plus three games in the 2019 ICC World Cup.
West Indies will take on England in a T20 International at Chester-le-Street in 2017, with the same summer also seeing South Africa come north for a one-day international.
England will meet Australia in an ODI at the Emirates ICG in 2018, with Pakistan visiting for a 50-over clash the following year, ahead of that season’s World Cup.
David Harker, Durham’s group chief executive said: “We are thrilled to have secured international cricket for the region up to 2019, and are delighted to be chosen to host games in the ICC World Cup, a major global event, in the North East in 2019.
“The awards are testament to a joined-up approach from a number of local and regional stakeholders and we would like to express our thanks to everyone who has backed our international match bid.”
Durham will hope to secure a Test match, and national finals day, in the next bidding process for major matches from 2020-23.
