Controversial FA Cup absentees return for Newcastle’s visit to Chelsea

FABRICIO Coloccini and Moussa Sissoko will return for Newcastle United against Premier League leaders Chelsea this afternoon.

Coloccini and Sissoko controversially missed last weekend’s FA Cup defeat to Leicester City through injury.

But the pair will start at Stamford Bridge (3pm kick-off) along with Jack Colback, Daryl Janmaat and Ayoze Perez, who also missed the cup tie.

Caretaker manager John Carver came under fire for his team selection at the King Power Stadium.

However, Carver insisted all bar Perez – who was rested – had injuries and were unable to play.

Newcastle beat Chelsea 2-1 at St James’s Park early last month thanks to two goals from Papiss Demba Cisse.
