Hebburn Town defender Tom Devitt is open-minded about his future as he continues to enjoy a productive loan spell with Northern Premier League East promotion candidates Dunston UTS.
The former Gateshead and Blyth Spartans player agreed to a temporary stint at the UTS Stadium last month and marked his Dunston debut with a goal as they claimed a thrilling 3-2 home win against North East neighbours Heaton Stannington. After collecting five points from an away trip to fellow promotion candidates Emley and home games with Sherwood Colliery and Grimsby Borough, Dunston hit form once again in midweek as hat-tricks from Scott Robson and JJ O’Donnell helped them to a 6-1 home win against Consett.

Speaking after the game, Devitt admitted he was unsure what could lie ahead for him as he enters the final week of his one-month loan and stressed his will always respect the fact he is a Hebburn player as he awaits news over his future.
He told The Gazette: “I’ve settled in quickly here and Jon (McDonald, Dunston manager) has been absolutely brilliant with me. The way Dunston play has really suited me and I think I’ve come in at a good time because I think they five unbeaten in the league now. I am just enjoying riding that wave, playing again and being motivated to help Dunston pushing at the top end of the table.
“I’m not too sure what is going on, I haven’t really heard much about what could happen but I know I am enjoying my time at Dunston and if something is agreed then great because I’ve loved my time here - but I’m a Hebburn player, I respect that so I’m just waiting to see what happens.”
Devitt will hope Dunston can continue their upturn in form when they travel to Bradford Park Avenue on Saturday afternoon.
