SOUTH Shields-born goalkeeper Aidan Grant has joined Conference side Lincoln City on non-contract terms.
The 19-year-old had a spell at Peterborough United earlier this season, and was an unusued substitute with the League One club nine times.
The former Newcastle United and Aston Villa youngster also played three times for hometown club South Shields at the start of the season, while he briefly returned to the Northern League club earlier this month and was in their squad for the game against Thornaby two weeks ago.
After his first stint with the Mariners, he joined Peterborough on a non-contract basis in September, and served as cover for ex-Sunderland goalkeeper Ben Alnwick.
The 6ft 6in stopper left the League One outfit at the end of October, and although he had a trial with Hartlepool United, he had been without a club since then.
Grant went on trial with Lincoln this week, and after impressing in a friendly at Boston United on Tuesday, the club opted to bring him in to provide competition for No1 Paul Farman.
