Not for the first time in recent weeks, Levi Collins was Boldon’s match-winner as the in-form striker picked the perfect time to notch his 29th goal of the season.

There was just a minute left on the clock when Collins claimed all three points for his side by powering a rising effort beyond Hornets goalkeeper Gary Frater and into the roof of the net.

The win moved Boldon into eighth place in the table and maintained their impressive form since the turn of the year.

Crumbie admitted that he has sensed a “different feel” in his squad as they continued a run of just one defeat in their last six games in all competitions.

He told The Gazette: “We are over the moon with the lads since the turn of the year and I hope we can keep this going.

“There is a different feel in both training and matchdays. There has been a lot of change on and off the pitch this season and it’s taken longer than I hoped to get it going.

“We have two aims now and the coaches push this a lot. Firstly, we have to enjoy it, and secondly we have to work hard.

“If we do both of those, and I am confident we will, we will be able to keep this run up.”
