Newcastle United have been linked with a move for Stoke City target Xherdan Shaqiri.
Shaqiri was at the Britannia Stadium yesterday to watch Stoke’s 1-0 defeat to Liverpool.
The 23-year-old has agreed terms and passed a medical ahead of a proposed £12m switch to the club.
Stoke manager Mark Hughes said: “The fact he is here, he has showed the club respect, but these things are never easy.”
The Stoke Sentinel report that Everton and Newcastle are keen also keen on the Inter Milan winger.
Shaqiri is not understood to be one of United’s primary summer targets.
Stoke’s for the Switzerland international is complicated by the conditions attached sale to Inter in January by then-club Bayern Munich.
