Newcastle United linked with DOUBLE deal as Magpies handed potential transfer boost in defender pursuit
With the transfer window now open, Newcastle United and their rivals are eyeing deals.
The rearranged EURO 2020 tournament has slowed business considerably, however, with clubs waiting until the competition’s finale before launching bids.
And there has been talk that Sunderland and Newcastle United could face-off in the coming months after an EFL decision.
Here, though, we take you through all the latest transfer news and gossip from Newcastle United and their top-flight rivals:
Newcastle United once again linked with attacker
Andre Ayew is a target for Newcastle United this summer, according to Ghanasoccernet.
The forward is a free agent after being released by Swansea City and the Magpies have shown an interest in the Ghana international in previous widows.
The 31-year-old narrowly missed out on promotion to the Premier League with The Swans last season, missing out to Brentford in the play-off final at Wembley Stadium.
Ayew, however, hasn’t played in the top-flight since 2018 but could still present an interesting option to Steve Bruce.
Liverpool won’t sign Newcastle United-linked defender
Jurgen Klopp has decided not to sign Ozan Kabak for Liverpool on a permanent basis.
That’s according to German publication Bild.
Kabak joined Liverpool on loan from Schalke on deadline day in January amidst a growing defensive crisis at Anfield.
Newcastle United have also been linked with a move for the Turkey international.
Leicester City too are said to be interested in the 21-year-old and can offer him Europa League football next season alongside international teammate Caglar Soyuncu at the King Power Stadium.
