As Newcastle United have found out, the January transfer window can be a difficult one to navigate with clubs across Europe very reluctant to sell their players this window.

5. Georginio Wijnaldum
Wijnaldum has struggled for game time at PSG and although he has little interest in re-joining Newcastle United, his stance could change as the window nears an end.

6. Ruben Loftus-Cheek
In a fiercely competitive Chelsea midfield, Loftus-Cheek has unsurprisingly struggled for game-time at Stamford Bridge. His quality is clear for all to see and with the World Cup looming, a return to regular first-team football may be on the agenda for him.

7. Anthony Martial
Even though Newcastle have added Chris Wood to their squad this window, they are still on the look-out for another striker to bolster their ranks. Martial would add quality to the squad and come to Tyneside with a point to prove after being left out of the limelight at Old Trafford.

8. Gareth Bale
It is clear that Bale has no future at Real Madrid, but the Welshman will remain hopeful that he can star for Wales in their attempts to qualify for the World Cup at the end of this year. A loan move to Newcastle could help him regain form and fitness ahead of a crucial international year.
