Alan Pardew says he's "proud" to have been manager of Newcastle United for four years ahead of this afternoon's reunion.
Pardew's Crystal Palace take on Steve McClaren's side at Selhurst Park (3pm kick-off).
The 54-year-old did not given a pre-match Press conference – assistant Keith Millen spoke to the media instead – but he has written about the match in the programme.
Pardew wrote: "I'm welcoming my old club to Selhurst today and I'm sure much has been said and written in the build-up.
"All I would add is that I was proud to have been manager of Newcastle for more than four years and 90 per cent of the time I spent there was positive.
"It will be good to catch up with a lot of my former staff and I wish Steve McClaren well as he looks to lift Newcastle up the table."
Pardew left Newcastle at the turn of the year after a fractious final two years on Tyneside.
