Aleksandar Mitrovic insist he’ll NEVER let his team down again – after being taught a harsh lesson at Newcastle United.
The striker was banned for three games after lunging at Arsenal’s Francis Coquelin.
Mitrovic’s first few games for the club were punctuated by yellow cards, and the summer signing was dismissed for his challenge on Coquelin last month.
But Mitrovic starred against Chelsea on his return from suspension last weekend after a “difficult few weeks” on the sidelnes.
And he’s relishing tomorrow’s game against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.
“It has been a very difficult few weeks,” said Mitrovic.
“It’s always very difficult when you have to sit and watch a game but you cannot help your team-mates.
“I am back now though, and I have learned a lot from the last few weeks. I will never do the same thing again.”
Newcastle are yet to win a Premier League game this season, but Mitrovic feels the team can build on its performance in last Saturday’s 2-2 draw against champions Chelsea.
“I think we showed against Chelsea that we can play against big teams,” he said.
