ARSENAL boss Arsene Wenger has played down a move for Loic Remy – but admits he is a fan of the striker.

Wenger has expressed his admiration for the on-loan Newcastle forward – but insists he won’t discuss a possible sumemr move until the end of the season.

Olivier Giroud has shouldered the majority of the attacking burden at the Emirates this season, and the Gunners are expected to pursue another centre-forward.

QPR hitman Remy, whose loan spell at Newcastle has yielded 13 league goals, has been suggested as a target.

Wenger praised his fellow Frenchman, but says he will not consider his activity in the transfer market until the end of the season.

“He is a good striker,” Wenger said. “But we are focused on the end of the season, not on strikers.”

Remy is set to leave QPR this summer, and has spoken of his desire to join one of the leading clubs in Europe.
