THE transfer rumour mill is in full swing, with Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United, Newcastle and Sunderland among the clubs who made the headlines today.

Both North East clubs were mentioned in this morning’s papers – but primarily with exits for two of their players.

The Metro reported that Queens Park Rangers striker Loic Remy, 27, currently on loan at Newcastle, is a target for Arsenal with Gunners boss Arsene Wenger refusing to rule out a move for the Frenchman.

Remy has scored 13 goals in 22 starts during his loan at Newcastle.

Meanwhile, the Sunday People reports Everton’s interest in Sunderland midfielder Jack Colback.

They say Everton will hand Seamus Coleman a new contract in a bid to fend off interest in the 25-year-old from Arsenal, while Toffees boss Roberto Martinez is keen on the free signing of Colback, 24.
