AYOZE Perez feels his goal against West Bromwich Albion was his biggest yet for Newcastle United.
Perez’s strike at St James’s Park on Saturday claimed what could prove a hugely-important point for the relegation-threatened club.
The forward cancelled out Victor Anichebe’s opening goal with a strike late in the first half.
And Perez was well aware of the importance of his seventh strike of the campaign.
Asked if it was his most important goal to date, he said: “Yes, undoubtedly.
“We had a really bad start to the game, and the goal made up for it. It’s one more goal under my belt, so it was very important.”
Perez and his team-mates are now focused on claiming the victory that would see the club safe against Queens Park Rangers at Loftus Road on Saturday.
“It has given us a lot of confidence, but we need to focus on the next game and just go after those three important points,” said the 21-year-old.
