Bookies declare Newcastle safe from relegation

Hide AdNewcastle, now 12th in the Premier League, also have a game in hand on 10th-placed Bournemouth, who are two points ahead of them.
The club could be backed to go down at 16/1 before the Huddersfield game.
However, bookies have now lengthened odds on relegation – and Newcastle are now 50/1 to go down.
United manager Benitez, however, is still refusing to look up the Premier League table.

Hide Ad"I’m not watching more at the top of the table," said Benitez. "I just want to make sure we are ready for the next game, to get three points and move even further away from the relegation places.”
Many bookmakers have stopped taking bets on basement club West Bromwich Albion, managed by Alan Pardew, to be relegated.
Second-bottom Stoke City are 2/7 to go down, while 16th-placed Huddersfield are evens.
