The odds on Newcastle United being relegated have lengthened after Newcastle United's success over Crystal Palace.

Rafa Benitez's side climbed out of the Premier League's relegation zone thanks to a 1-0 win at St James's Park on Saturday.

And BoyleSports have eased the odds on the club going down from 2/7 to 8/13.

But Sunderland, a point behind Newcastle with a game in hand, are still favourites to stay up.

The same bookmaker has priced Sam Allardyce's side at 4/6 to go down.

Second-bottom Norwich City are now 1/7 to go down, while Palace are 66/1 outsiders.

BoyleSports spokesman Liam Glynn said: “Newcastle kept their Premier League survival hopes alive with a win over Crystal Palace that sees them now out of the relegation zone.

"The Magpies face Aston Villa next and will be hoping to get another three points ahead of their final game against Tottenham.

“Norwich’s defeat to Arsenal sees them now lie second from bottom, and with their next game against Manchester United they will need a lot of luck to get out of the relegation zone.

"The Canaries have hardened further into 1/7 to be relegated.”
