'BruceBall at it best' – Newcastle United fans far from impressed after Brighton humbling

Newcastle United were ‘schooled’ by Brighton at St James’s Park this afternoon, as a Neil Maupay double and a late Aaron Connelly strike saw Graham Potter & Co claim all three points on Tyneside.

And it’s fair to day Newcastle United fans, on #NUFC on Twitter, are not taking it too well – and with good cause.

Here’s how they’ve been reacting...

@mark_lockey – “That was BruceBall at its best that. Utter dross.”

@GeordieMania – “Bruce needs to go. He won’t, but he needs to.”

@getoutofmyclub – “Outcoached, outworked, outplayed.”

@GWard63 - “#NUFC normal service resumed... 3.points last week against an awful side. Where will the next win, or goal even, come from...?”

@leelowery96 – “A crowd really does make a difference, I think if there were fans in attendance today it probs would of been 3-1 Brighton instead.”

@MarcJobling – “We bought some good players in 2015 too (Wijnaldum, Mitrovic, Thauvin) but they were managed by McClaren and got relegated.”

@NUFC_fan Esther – “what the hell happened?!”

@paulm1980 – “There's something quite poetic about Mike Ashley, sitting solemnly in an empty St James' Park, watching Steve Bruce's Newcastle United get schooled by Brighton. Yes, Brighton. Not Liverpool, or Man City. BRIGHTON. Leave, Mike, there's a good lad.”

@23danielbrown – “Doesn't take a genius to know we shouldn't have played 442 again, and certainly not Carroll again. It isn’t good enough to say, "same again lads" when it's a different team with a better system. SB got everything wrong today, sorry.”
