Derby County have tabled a bid for a Championship-winning Newcastle United defender, according to a report.
The Daily Mirror claim Gary Rowett has made a move for Grant Hanley, signed from Blackburn Rovers last summer.
Hanley made 10 appearances for Newcastle during their promotion season.
The 25-year-old could be allowed to leave St James's Park this summer as manager Rafa Benitez reshapes his squad for the Premier League.
Hanley, captain at Blackburn, spoke about the adjustment he had to make at Newcastle in February.
"Obviously, I’ve come from playing most weeks to being on the bench most weeks," said the Scotland international.
"You learn in football that you need to adapt quickly and you need to do whatever it takes."
