The Sunday Mirror claim that the Rams – who have recently appointed former Newcastle boss Steve McClaren as their Technical Director – are eyeing a loan deal for the 20-year-old.

Longstaff penned a new two-year deal at St James’s Park in the summer but has featured just once for the club this term – featuring in the 2-0 defeat to Southampton at the start of the month.
