Dan Gosling says he has “no regrets” about joining Newcastle United – even though his career “stalled” at the club.
Gosling returns to Tyneside with Bournemouth this afternoon.
My career stalled a little bit. I wasn’t getting the games which I felt I should be.Dan Gosling
And the 26-year-old – who spent four years on Tyneside – feels he is playing the best football of his career.
Reflecting on his move to Newcastle, he said: “I feel like there was a lot of times in my four years there where I could’ve played. But I just never really got given the chance and I left after my contract expired.
“My career stalled a little bit. I wasn’t getting the games which I felt I should be. There was sort of no room for me there.
“I don’t regret the move to Newcastle. It was something I couldn’t turn down at the time. They’re a massive club, and I feel very proud to have played for them.
“It’s nice to show people now that I can play at this level.”
