David Wagner was left disappointed and felt Huddersfield Town deserved a result in their 1-0 defeat against Newcastle United.
Despite the defeat, Wagner was pleased with the Terriers' defensive display, and was also confident that his team could bounce back quickly to avoid the drop.
He said: “It was frustrating to concede so late in the game.
“I feel that our game plan worked perfectly. We wanted to frustrate Newcastle by hurting them on the counter-attack.
“I thought it was our best defensive performance of the season, and I remain confident for the remaining games."
The visitors' failure to register a goal at St James's Park extends their goalless run to four league matches.
However, Wagner insisted there was nothing to worry about in terms of attacking threats.
He said: “We deserved a point for our fighting spirit and the attitude that we showed today. It is everything you need when fighting in the position we are currently in.
“We missed a bit of luck today, which is what you want when get out of the danger zone, but we had created a lot of opportunities in recent matches and this is why it is not a concern.
“It is disappointing to lose, but we will attempt to perform better in the next six games.”
