DAVIDE Santon’s pencilled in to return for Newcastle United next month – along with Tim Krul and Siem de Jong.
The defender is closing in on a comeback after summer knee surgery.
Summer signing de Jong, meanwhile, had an operation on his thigh earlier this season, while goalkeeper Krul is out with an ankle problem.
“Davide hasn’t been forgotten by us, because we know we’ve got an outstanding talent there,” said Pardew.
“He’s on the way back, and has done some lengthy strides. By the start of January, I expect to see Davide in and around the team.
“I don’t think it was career threatening or anything like that, but the rehab was always going to take a bit longer than we thought.
“De Jong’s on way back, and will be back around same time as Tim – end of January.”
Meanwhile, Rolando Aarons won’t be back for tomorrow’s game against Chelsea, but Sammy Ameobi – who limped off against Burnley on Tuesday night – should be fit.
