Goals from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Nicolas Pepe, Mesut Ozil and Alexandre Lacazette inflicted a heavy scoreline on the Magpies, who were the better side in the first half.
And here, we’ve dished out individuals marks for each Newcastle player during the Emirates drubbing. Scroll and click through the pages to see how we have rated Steve Bruce’s men:
Could do nothing about Arsenal's opening two goals but suffered a horror moment for the third goal... 5 Overall steady showing. Arsenal found more space in the final stages when he was off the pitch... 6 Let himself down in the final minutes as Arsenal added a third and fourth... 5 Should have made it 2-1. Sadly looks to have picked up a heavy knock after hobbling off on 81 minutes... 6 Defensive vulnerabilities very apparent after being at fault for both of Arsenal goals. Shame as he played well in the first-half.... 4 Not a great first start for Rose at Newcastle. Both full-backs were poor in the second-half - just Lazaro was worse... 5 Decent with the ball at his feet but struggled to get around the pitch. Doesn't look fit... 4 Worked hard in the midfield but was again forced to sit back. Much more effective when pushed further forward... 6 As ever, you can't fault Almiron work rate but lacked a cutting edge when Newcastle were on top in the opening 30 minutes... 6 Tried to showboat too much rather than doing the simple stuff. Failed to deliver from good areas... 6 Does not make the runs you'd expect of a striker. Completely static at times... 5 Had a late shot from distance but was introduced too late to make an impact... 5 Isaac Hayden (Fernandez, 73) - N/A Fabian Schar (Clark, 81) - N/A In association with Grand Central
