Dwight Gayle is preparing for Newcastle United's friendly against Braga – as speculation intensifies over his future.
Rafa Benitez's players trained this morning at Braga's academy ahead of Wednesday night's game at the Estadio Municipal de Braga.
Midfielder Jonjo Shelvey wasn't involved in the session, though he could train later today.
Newcastle hope to push through a deal for West Bromwich Albion's Salomon Rondon this week, and a swap deal which would see Gayle move to The Hawthorns has been mooted.
Gayle was an unused substitute for Saturday's goalless draw against Porto at the Estadio do Dragao.
United manager Benitez – who is having to sell to buy this summer – addressed speculation over Gayle's future at St James's Park after the game.
Gayle trained normally with his team-mates ahead of the Braga game.
The 27-year-old spoke about his future after playing in the club's first pre-season friendly against St Patrick's Athletic earlier this month.
“I’m loving it here," said Gayle. "For the time being, if the gaffer’s happy with me, I’m happy at to stay.”
Meanwhile, Rondon is available for £16.5million in the wake of West Brom's relegation from the Premier League. Newcastle, however, are yet to activate his release clause.
United last week agreed to sell Aleksandar Mitrovic to Fulham for £20million.
