TWO academy youngsters from Newcastle United have received England call-ups.
Goalkeeper Paul Woolston has been named part of John Peacock’s 22-man under-17 squad for next month’s Algarve Tournament.
The competition is England’s final warm-up ahead of the European Under-17 Championships Elite Round qualifiers and will see the Young Lions face Holland, Germany and hosts Portugal.
Woolston has won seven under-17 caps since making his debut against the Czech Republic and is one of two goalkeepers in the squad alongside Leeds United’s William Huffer.
Meanwhile, Mackenzie Heaney has been named in Steve Cooper’s squad for a UEFA Under-16 Development Tournament at St. George’s Park, also in February.
Cooper has named a 20-man party for games against Switzerland, France and Slovakia.
