Newcastle United have moved another player out of the door – ahead of a frantic final few days of transfer business.
Siem de Jong yesterday returned to Ajax on a permanent deal and ended an injury-hit three career at the club.
De Jong’s departure followed that of Emmanuel Riviere last week.
Manager Rafa Benitez had been under pressure to move a number of unwanted players out of the club ahead of a final transfer window push.
And more players are set to leave – either on loans or permanent deals – between now and Thursday night’s transfer deadline.
Benitez is looking to strengthen a number of positions.

Newcastle have been involved in protracted talks over a season-long loan for Chelsea winger Kenedy.
Benitez – whose side beat West Ham United 3-0 on Saturday – is also keen to recruit an experienced goalkeeper and another striker to add more goals to his Premier League squad.
“If we work like we did (against West Ham), we can win games, but, obviously, every manager wants a little bit more quality,” said Benitez.
